How to Install WAMP Server on Windows 10
First Make sure you do not have Skype installed on your Windows 10 machine, if you need to keep it you will have to change the port numbers as they interfere with SSL port 443. Then visit http://wampserver.aviatechno.net/ and download the following files.
Wampserver 3.1.9 64 bit x64 - Apache 2.4.39 - PHP 5.6.40/7.0.33/7.1.28/7.2.18/7.3.5 - MySQL 5.7.26 - MariaDB 10.3.14
We also need these two
First Extract the All VC Redistribuable Packages (x86_x64) (32 & 64bits) download. Then install each one by right clicking and running as Administrator.
Next we will Run the Checker program Checks VC++ packages installed by right clicking and running as Administrator
If you get this you are ready to proceed , if not install whats missing
Now we are ready to install WAMP, so right click and run as Administrator on the install download. Wampserver 3.1.9 32 bit x86 - Apache 2.4.39 - PHP 5.6.40/7.0.33/7.1.28/7.2.18/7.3.5 - MySQL 5.7.26 - MariaDB 10.3.14
Lets click through these
When this option comes up , in this tutorial I use Firefox
Go up once in the tree.
Then choose the Program File as below
Double Click Mozilla Folder
and choose the Firefox executable
It will now ask if you want to use another text editor besides regular notepad. In this tutorial I will use Notepad ++. You can use your preferred text editor or if you wish to follow along it's not too late to download and install Notepad ++ as it does not require a reboot.
Go up one directory
then double click Program Files (x86)
Double Click the Notepad ++ folder
then choose the Notepad ++ executable
The install then finishes up with the following windows
You will now have the WAMP shortcut on your desktop
Its best to always run WAMP as Administrator, so right click and run as Administrator each time you start it up. You will now have the WAMP icon on the taskbar. You want for it to be green, which means its running properly. Mine is yellow
To fix this left click the icon on the taskbar
and Restart All Services
